And, a configurable timeout for remote process is available in remote sync settings.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-52085\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/keepassxc-remotedatabase-700x480.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"610\" height=\"418\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/keepassxc-remotedatabase-700x480.webp 700w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/keepassxc-remotedatabase-300x206.webp 300w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/keepassxc-remotedatabase-768x526.webp 768w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/keepassxc-remotedatabase.webp 1249w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 610px) 100vw, 610px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>For Linux, KeePassXC in Wayland session that&#8217;s default in recent GNOME and KDE Plasma desktops, now has <b>Auto-Type support<\/b> by using XDG Desktop Portals.<\/p>\n<p>It also introduced <b>Polkit Quick Unlock<\/b> feature. Parity with macOS Touch ID and Windows Hello, the feature allows Linux users to use fingerprint to unlock database quickly.<\/p>\n<p>As well, it improved the <b>AppImage<\/b> package with better desktop integration, updated <b>Snap<\/b> package with Linux kernel keyring integration, and fixed a timing-related bug that could cause dark mode to be detected incorrectly.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-52086\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/keepassxc-quickunlock-700x495.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"610\" height=\"431\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/keepassxc-quickunlock-700x495.webp 700w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/keepassxc-quickunlock-300x212.webp 300w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/keepassxc-quickunlock-768x543.webp 768w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/keepassxc-quickunlock.webp 930w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 610px) 100vw, 610px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>For Windows, it added <b>native Arm64<\/b> support. Meaning the password manager can now run in Surface, XPS 13, etc laptops with Snapdragon X Elite processors, though I didn&#8217;t see the official arm64 Windows package for this Beta.<\/p>\n<p>Other changes include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support generating SSH keys, so far RSA, ECDSA and Ed25519 supported.<\/li>\n<li>Configurable Keyboard Shortcuts.<\/li>\n<li>Fallback to Device Password when Touch-ID no available in macOS.<\/li>\n<li>More entry types in Proton Pass importer.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Get KeePassXC 2.8.0<\/h3>\n<p><b>NOTE: KeePassXC 2.8.0 is so far in Beta stage, it may have bugs.
