{"id":5303,"date":"2015-09-24T19:05:00","date_gmt":"2015-09-24T19:05:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/?p=5303"},"modified":"2015-09-24T19:05:00","modified_gmt":"2015-09-24T19:05:00","slug":"install-pragha-133-ppa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/index.php\/2015\/09\/install-pragha-133-ppa\/","title":{"rendered":"Install Pragha Music Player 1.3.3 in Ubuntu via PPA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/pragha-player-icon.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/pragha-player-icon.png\" alt=\"pragha-player-icon\" width=\"245\" height=\"250\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5304\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A new release of Pragha, a lightweight music player for GNU\/Linux was released a few hours ago with new features and bug fixes.<\/p>\n<p>For those who never heard about Pragha, it&#8217;s a continuation of Consonance, an excellent player emerged in the archlinux forums, which is based on Gtk+3 and written in C, constructed to be fast and light.<\/p>\n<p>The new Pragha 1.3.3 brings new features and changes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Rework the interface of equalizer and adds the preamplifier.<\/li>\n<li>Add a switch for disabling the equalizer preset easily.<\/li>\n<li>Add option to use small icons on tool\/headerbar.<\/li>\n<li>Change &#8220;Use Gnome 3 HIG&#8221; option to &#8220;Use system title bar and borders&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Don&#8217;t use icons on menubar.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There&#8217;s also some bug fixes and translation updates. It&#8217;s available in PPA for Ubuntu 15.10, Ubuntu 15.04, and Elementary OS Freya.<\/p>\n<p>Open terminal from the Dash, App Launcher, or via Ctrl+Alt+T shortcut key. When it opens, run below commands one by one to add PPA, update system cache, and install the player:<\/p>\n<pre style=\"border:none;\">sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntuhandbook1\/pragha\n\nsudo apt-get update\n\nsudo apt-get install pragha<\/pre>\n<p>For Elementary OS Freya <i>(use 15.04 package)<\/i>, and those who don&#8217;t want to add PPA, grab the <b>.deb<\/b> installer from the <a href=\"http:\/\/ppa.launchpad.net\/ubuntuhandbook1\/pragha\/ubuntu\/pool\/main\/p\/pragha\/\" target=\"_blank\">PPA archive<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><b>Tip:<\/b> The close button does not close the player by default, instead minimize the software window.
