Picture from linux distro community forum<\/p><\/div>\n<p><b>Install OBS-Studio in Ubuntu via PPA:<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The software is available in a PPA repository for Ubuntu and derivatives users. Ubuntu 15.10 and Ubuntu 14.04 LTS are supported so far.<\/p>\n<p>1. <a href=\"https:\/\/launchpad.net\/~obsproject\/+archive\/ubuntu\/obs-studio\/\" target=\"_blank\">Add the PPA<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Open terminal from Unity Dash, App Launcher, or via Ctrl+Alt+T shortcut keys. When it opens, paste below command and hit enter:<\/p>\n<pre style=\"border:none;\">sudo add-apt-repository ppa:obsproject\/obs-studio<\/pre>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/obs-studio-ppa.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/obs-studio-ppa-600x95.jpg\" alt=\"obs-studio-ppa\" width=\"600\" height=\"95\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-5481\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/obs-studio-ppa-600x95.jpg 600w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/obs-studio-ppa-450x71.jpg 450w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/obs-studio-ppa.jpg 698w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Type in your password when it asks, <i>no visual feedback so just type in mind<\/i>, and hit Enter to continue.<\/p>\n<p>2. For <b>Ubuntu 14.04 LTS<\/b> and derivatives only.<\/p>\n<p>The Software requires ffmpeg which is not included in 14.04&#8217;s official repositories. If you don&#8217;t have ffmpeg installed, add below PPA via command:<\/p>\n<pre style=\"border:none;\">sudo add-apt-repository ppa:kirillshkrogalev\/ffmpeg-next<\/pre>\n<p>3. After that, search for and install <code>obs-studio<\/code> via Synaptic Package Manager after clicking the Refresh button.<\/p>\n<p>Or run below commands one by one in terminal:<\/p>\n<pre style=\"border:none;\">sudo apt-get update\n\nsudo apt-get install obs-studio<\/pre>\n<p><b>How to Uninstall:<\/b><\/p>\n<p>You may remove both PPAs by launching <b>Software &#038; Updates<\/b> and navigating to <b>Other Software<\/b> tab, and remove the broadcaster software via Synaptic Package Manager or by running below command in terminal:<\/p>\n<pre style=\"border:None;\">sudo apt-get remove obs-studio && sudo apt-get autoremove<\/pre>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>OBS-Studio is a free and open-source software for video recording and live streaming.
