It uses the new .kdbx (same as KeePass 2) database format. You can import your .kdb database from 0.4 series from menu <u>Database > Import KeePass 1 database<\/u>.<\/p>\n<p>New features include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Multiple attachments per entry<\/li>\n<li>Add custom key\/value pairs to entries<\/li>\n<li>Open multiple database in one window<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For more details, see <a href=\"https:\/\/www.keepassx.org\/news\/2015\/12\/533\" target=\"_blank\">official release note<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/keepassx-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/keepassx-2-600x383.jpg\" alt=\"KeePassX 2\" width=\"600\" height=\"383\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-5493\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/keepassx-2-600x383.jpg 600w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/keepassx-2-450x287.jpg 450w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/keepassx-2.jpg 1038w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><b>How to Install KeePassX 2 in Ubuntu:<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The official <a href=\"https:\/\/launchpad.net\/~keepassx\/+archive\/ubuntu\/ppa\" target=\"_blank\">KeePassX PPA<\/a> does not update at the moment, but a third-party PPA has built the KeePassX 2.0 for Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, Ubuntu 15.04, and <del>Ubuntu 14.04 LTS<\/del>.<\/p>\n<p>1. Add PPA<\/p>\n<p>Open terminal from Unity Dash, App Launcher, or via Ctrl+Alt+T shortcut key. When it opens, paste below command to add the PPA:<\/p>\n<pre style=\"border:none;\">sudo add-apt-repository ppa:eugenesan\/ppa<\/pre>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/keepassx-3thparty-ppa.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/keepassx-3thparty-ppa-600x96.jpg\" alt=\"keepassx-3thparty-ppa\" width=\"600\" height=\"96\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-5494\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/keepassx-3thparty-ppa-600x96.jpg 600w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/keepassx-3thparty-ppa-450x72.jpg 450w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/keepassx-3thparty-ppa.jpg 645w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<div class=\"arconix-box arconix-box-red\"><i class='fa fa-2x pull-left fa-exclamation-triangle'><\/i><div class=\"arconix-box-content\">Update: The 14.04 package so far is broken in the eugenesan\/ppa. Use <a href=\"https:\/\/launchpad.net\/~hda-me\/+archive\/ubuntu\/keepassx2-yubico\">this PPA<\/a> instead with yubikey support:<\/p>\n<pre style=\"border:none\">sudo add-apt-repository ppa:hda-me\/keepassx2-yubico<\/pre>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<p>Type in your password when it asks (<i>no visual feedback just type in mind<\/i>) and hit Enter to continue.<\/p>\n<p>2. After that, upgrade KeePassX by running Software Updater. Or run below commands one by one in terminal:<\/p>\n<pre style=\"border:none;\">sudo apt-get update\n\nsudo apt-get install keepassx<\/pre>\n<p>For those who don&#8217;t want to add PPA, grab the .deb installer directly from <a href=\"http:\/\/ppa.launchpad.net\/eugenesan\/ppa\/ubuntu\/pool\/main\/k\/keepassx\/\" target=\"_blank\">HERE<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>3. (Optional) As a third-party PPA, it also contains many other applications.
