Thanks to Paul Licameli.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>New option \u2018Spectral Reassignment\u2019. This algorithm deduces a \u2018finer\u2019 spectrogram.<\/li>\n<li>Improvements to Pitch (EAC) \u2013 cleaner (sharper) display.<\/li>\n<li>Spectrogram Settings are now available per-track.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/audacity-212.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/audacity-212-600x368.jpg\" alt=\"audacity 2.12\" width=\"600\" height=\"368\" class=\"aligncenter\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><b>How to Install Audacity 2.1.2 in Ubuntu:<\/b><\/p>\n<p>For those who don&#8217;t want to build Audacity from the source, I&#8217;ve uploaded this release into PPA, available for Ubuntu 15.10, Ubuntu 15.04, Ubuntu 14.04, and their derivatives, e.g., Linux Mint 17.x and Elementary OS Freya.<\/p>\n<p>1. Add <a href=\"https:\/\/launchpad.net\/~ubuntuhandbook1\/+archive\/ubuntu\/audacity\" target=\"_blank\">PPA<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Open terminal from Unity Dash, Application Launcher, or via Ctrl+Alt+T shortcut key. When it opens, paste below command and hit run:<\/p>\n<pre style=\"border:none;\">sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntuhandbook1\/audacity<\/pre>\n<p>Type in your password (no visual feedback just type in mind) when it asks and hit enter to continue.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/audacity-ppa.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/audacity-ppa-600x77.jpg\" alt=\"audacity ppa\" width=\"600\" height=\"77\" class=\"aligncenter\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>2. Install\/upgrade Audacity.<\/p>\n<p>Have a previous release installed? Launch <b>Software Updater<\/b> and upgrade the software after checking for updates:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/upgrade-audacity-212.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/upgrade-audacity-212-450x443.jpg\" alt=\"upgrade Audacity 2.1.2\" width=\"450\" height=\"443\" class=\"aligncenter\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>3.
