It can read almost all music file formats: .mp3, .m4a (MP4), .flac, .ogg, .oga (OGG Vorbis), .asf, .ape (Monkey Audio), .opus and more!<\/p>\n<p>It provides a built-in tag editor (using tablib), plugins, and customizable user interface, covers, and themes. So far, only Ubuntu 15.10 is supported.<\/p>\n<p>Open terminal from app launcher or via Ctrl+Alt+T shortcut key, and follow the steps below:<\/p>\n<p><b>1.<\/b> Paste below command and hit run to add PPA for QtAv media library:<\/p>\n<pre style=\"border:None;\">sudo add-apt-repository ppa:wbsecg1\/qtav<\/pre>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/qtav-ppa.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/qtav-ppa-600x96.jpg\" alt=\"QtAv PPA\" width=\"600\" height=\"96\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-5686\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/qtav-ppa-600x96.jpg 600w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/qtav-ppa-450x72.jpg 450w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/qtav-ppa.jpg 670w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Type in your password <i>(no visual feedback when typing)<\/i> when it asks and hit Enter to continue.<\/p>\n<p><b>2.<\/b> Add Miam-Player PPA:<\/p>\n<pre style=\"border:None;\">sudo add-apt-repository ppa:bachelier-matthieu\/ppa<\/pre>\n<p><b>3.<\/b> Finally refresh your system cache and install the player via <b>Synaptic Package Manager<\/b>, or by running following commands one by one:<\/p>\n<pre style=\"border:none;\">sudo apt-get update\n\nsudo apt-get install miam-player<\/pre>\n<p>May need log out (or restart) and back in to be able to launch it from the Dash.<\/p>\n<p><b>4.<\/b> (Optional) You can always manage these PPAs via <b>Software &#038; Updates -> Other Software<\/b> tab,<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/manage-ppas.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/manage-ppas-450x274.jpg\" alt=\"manage-ppas\" width=\"450\" height=\"274\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-5687\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/manage-ppas-450x274.jpg 450w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/manage-ppas-600x365.jpg 600w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/manage-ppas.jpg 751w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>and remove the music player via either Synaptic or below command:<\/p>\n<pre style=\"border:none;\">sudo apt-get remove miam-player && sudo apt-get autoremove<\/pre>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Miam-Player is a cross-platform open source music player using QtAv media library which is based on Qt and FFmpeg.
