Here&#8217;s how to install it in Ubuntu 16.04, Ubuntu 16.10, and their derivatives.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks to an upgrade of the PortAudio library, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.audacityteam.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Audacity 2.1.3<\/a> now properly supports Windows 10. It also features:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Added support for Magic Mouse\/Trackpad on mac OS.<\/li>\n<li>New Distortion effect, Rhythm Track (was called Click Track) and Sample Data Import. Besides building from source, you can install Audacity 2.1.3 from <a href=\"https:\/\/launchpad.net\/~ubuntuhandbook1\/+archive\/ubuntu\/audacity\/\" target=\"_blank\">my PPA (unofficial)<\/a>. Ubuntu 14.04 is excluded due to requirement of GCC >= 4.9. <\/p>\n<p><b>1.<\/b> Open terminal by pressing Ctrl+Alt+T or searching for &#8220;Terminal&#8221; from Unity Dash.
