Now you can install it via a PPA in Ubuntu 14.04, Ubuntu 16.04, Ubuntu 17.04, and derivatives.<\/p>\n<p>KeePass was originally for Windows only, but now uses Mono to run on Linux. For those who want a native Linux password manager software, try <a href=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/index.php\/2015\/12\/install-keepassx-2-0-in-ubuntu-16-04-15-10-14-04\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">KeePassX<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/keepassxc.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">KeePassXC<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>New features in <a href=\"http:\/\/keepass.info\/news\/n170609_2.36.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">KeePass 2.36<\/a>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Added commands &#8216;Find Duplicate Passwords&#8217; and &#8216;Find Similar Passwords&#8217;.<\/li>\n<li>Added command &#8216;Password Quality Report&#8217;.<\/li>\n<li>Added option &#8216;String name&#8217; in the &#8216;Edit&#8217; -> &#8216;Find&#8217; dialog.<\/li>\n<li>Added option for using a gray tray icon.<\/li>\n<li>Added {CMD:\/&#8230;\/} placeholder, which runs a command line.<\/li>\n<li>Added {T-CONV:\/&#8230;\/Raw\/} placeholder, which inserts a text without encoding it for the current context.<\/li>\n<li>Added optional &#8216;Last Password Modification Time (Based on History)&#8217; entry list column.<\/li>\n<li>The internal text editor now supports editing PS1 files.<\/li>\n<li>The position and size of the internal data viewer is now remembered and restored.<\/li>\n<li>For various dialogs, the maximized state is now remembered and restored.<\/li>\n<li>Added configuration option for specifying an expiry date for master keys.<\/li>\n<li>Added configuration option for specifying disallowed auto-type target windows.<\/li>\n<li>Added workaround for Edge throwing away all keyboard input for a short time after its activation.<\/li>\n<li>Added workaround for Mono not properly rendering bold and italic text in rich text boxes.<\/li>\n<li>TrlUtil now performs a case-sensitive word validation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>How to Install KeePass 2.36 in Ubuntu:<\/h4>\n<p>Open terminal via Ctrl+Alt+T or by searching for &#8220;Terminal&#8221; from app launcher.
