When it opens, run command to add the PPA:<\/p>\n<pre style=\"border:none;\">sudo add-apt-repository ppa:bookworm-team\/bookworm<\/pre>\n<p><i>Input your password (no visual feedback while typing) when it prompts and hit Enter.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/bookworm-ppa-600x74.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"74\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-7110\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/bookworm-ppa-600x74.jpg 600w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/bookworm-ppa-450x55.jpg 450w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/bookworm-ppa.jpg 739w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><b>2. (For ubuntu 16.04 only)<\/b> While Bookworm was originally designed for Elementary OS. Ubuntu 16.04 needs following PPA to install the <code>libgranite3<\/code> library:<\/p>\n<pre style=\"border:none;\">sudo add-apt-repository ppa:elementary-os\/stable<\/pre>\n<p><b>3.<\/b> Finally check updates and install Bookworm as well as all its dependencies via commands:<\/p>\n<pre style=\"border:none;\">sudo apt-get update\r\n\r\nsudo apt-get install bookworm<\/pre>\n<p><b>4.<\/b> And remove the dependency PPA after all:<\/p>\n<pre style=\"border:none;\">sudo add-apt-repository --remove ppa:elementary-os\/stable<\/pre>\n<p><b>Uninstall:<\/b><\/p>\n<p>To remove Bookworm ebook reader, run command:<\/p>\n<pre style=\"border:none;\">sudo apt-get remove --autoremove bookworm<\/pre>\n<p>And remove the PPA via &#8220;Software &#038; Updates&#8221; utility, under Other Software tab.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bookworm is a simple eBook reader with a modern user interface.
