It monitors system clipboard and saves its content in customized tabs. Saved clipboard can be later copied and pasted directly into any application.<\/p>\n<p>The latest <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/hluk\/CopyQ\/releases\" target=\"_blank\">CopyQ 3.3.0<\/a> was released earlier today with following changes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Add option for searching numbers in item list and tray menu<\/li>\n<li>Use exception instead of return code for exportData()\/importData()<\/li>\n<li>Draw icon shadow (for internal icon font)<\/li>\n<li>Remove support for Qt 4, require Qt >= 5.1.0<\/li>\n<li>Fix storing only non-empty clipboard items<\/li>\n<li>Fix opening web browser from script with open()<\/li>\n<li>Fix exiting clipboard provider process when not needed<\/li>\n<li>Fix exportData()\/importData() with relative file paths<\/li>\n<li>Fix SVG app icon resolution in some panels<\/li>\n<li>Fix closing window after a menu is closed and window is unfocused<\/li>\n<li>Fix icons for command error notifications<\/li>\n<li>Fix warnings when using system icons<\/li>\n<li>Linux: Fixes for AppData, desktop and flatpak files<\/li>\n<li>OSX: Fix pasting items<\/li>\n<li>OSX: Log errors when global shortcut registration fails<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/copyq-clipboard-manager-ubuntu-1024x559.jpg\" alt=\"CopyQ clipboard manager in Ubuntu 14.04\" width=\"600\" height=\"328\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-4461\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/copyq-clipboard-manager-ubuntu-1024x559.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/copyq-clipboard-manager-ubuntu-300x163.jpg 300w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/copyq-clipboard-manager-ubuntu.jpg 1131w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<h4>Install Copyq 3.3.0 in Ubuntu:<\/h4>\n<p>The software has an <a href=\"https:\/\/launchpad.net\/~hluk\/+archive\/ubuntu\/copyq\" target=\"_blank\">official PPA repository<\/a> that contains the latest packages for Ubuntu 14.04, Ubuntu 16.04, Ubuntu 17.10, Ubuntu 18.04 so far.<\/p>\n<p><b>1.<\/b> To add the PPA, open terminal from application launcher and run command:<\/p>\n<pre style=\"border:none;\">sudo add-apt-repository ppa:hluk\/copyq<\/pre>\n<p><i>Input your password (no visual feedback while typing) when it prompts and hit Enter to continue.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/copyq-ppa-xenial-600x86.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"86\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-7594\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/copyq-ppa-xenial-600x86.jpg 600w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/copyq-ppa-xenial-450x64.jpg 450w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/copyq-ppa-xenial.jpg 699w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><b>2.<\/b> After added the PPA repository, install CopyQ either via Synaptic package manager or by running commands in terminal:<\/p>\n<pre style=\"border:none;\">sudo apt-get update\r\n\r\nsudo apt-get install copyq<\/pre>\n<p>Once installed, start the clipboard manager from application launcher and you&#8217;ll see the icon in system tray area.<\/p>\n<p><b>Uninstall:<\/b><\/p>\n<p>To remove the software, either use Synaptic package manager or run command:<\/p>\n<pre style=\"border:none;\">sudo apt-get remove --autoremove copyq<\/pre>\n<p>To remove PPA repositories, launch <b>Software &#038; Updates<\/b> and navigate to Other Software tab.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>CopyQ is an open-source clipboard manager software with editing and scripting features.
