The new release added support for Hierarchical Progressive Surveys (HiPS).<\/p>\n<p>Changes in <a href=\"http:\/\/stellarium.org\/release\/2018\/03\/25\/stellarium-0.18.0.html\" target=\"_blank\">Stellarium 0.18.0<\/a> include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Added support Hierarchical Progressive Surveys [HiPS] (Hello visualization of multiwavelength universe in the Stellarium)<\/li>\n<li>Added patches for TeXLive<\/li>\n<li>Added Dnoces star name<\/li>\n<li>Added computation of solar eclipse magnitude and solar eclipse obscuration on Earth (special case)<\/li>\n<li>Added option to allow adding some sky background color<\/li>\n<li>Added Moon age computation<\/li>\n<li>Added \u201cWestern (O.Hlad)\u201d sky culture<\/li>\n<li>Added support common names of pulsars<\/li>\n<li>Added some DSO images<\/li>\n<li>Added calculation of synodic period<\/li>\n<li>Added AstroCalc\/Monthly Elevation tool<\/li>\n<li>Added optional Sun, Moon, Astronomical Twilight and Nautical Twilight lines for AstroCalc\/AltVsTime tool<\/li>\n<li>Added Battlesteads Observatory into locations list<\/li>\n<li>Added a special case of computations (lunar eclipse) into AstroCalc\/Phenomena tool<\/li>\n<li>Added two new signals to manage wide dates changes with various steps &#8211; by months and years<\/li>\n<li>Added tools for select color of planetary labels and trails<\/li>\n<li>Added option to suppress drawing large halo around bright stars.<\/li>\n<li>Added Tesla Roadster orbital elements<\/li>\n<li>Added config options for font size of cardinal points<\/li>\n<li>Added visualization of civil twilight line in AstroCalc\/AltVsTime tool<\/li>\n<li>Added \u2018Artificial objects\u2019 into Search\/Lists tool<\/li>\n<li>Added feature to store and retrieve selected HiPS<\/li>\n<li>Added bottom bar GUI button for HiPS display<\/li>\n<li>Updated and extended AstroCalc tool<\/li>\n<li>Added support a Hickson Compact Group collection<\/li>\n<li>Updated code and data, and fixed various bugs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>How to Install Stellarium 0.18.0 in Ubuntu:<\/h4>\n<p>The developers maintain a <a href=\"https:\/\/launchpad.net\/~stellarium\/+archive\/ubuntu\/stellarium-releases\" target=\"_blank\">stable PPA repository<\/a> that contains the latest Stellarium packages for Ubuntu 16.04, Ubuntu 17.10, Ubuntu 18.04.<\/p>\n<p><b>1.<\/b> Open terminal either via Ctrl+Alt+T or by searching &#8216;terminal&#8217; from app launcher.
