How to Install it in Ubuntu 18.04"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/stellarium-icon245.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"245\" height=\"250\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-6645\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Free and open-source planetarium software, Stellarium 0.18.1, was released 2 days ago with new features, many improvements and lots of bug-fixes.<\/p>\n<p>The major changes in Stellarium 0.18.1 include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Improvements and fixes for Hierarchical Progressive Surveys [HiPS] support<\/li>\n<li>Updated the main UI, code of plugins, code and data.<\/li>\n<li>Updated GPS handling<\/li>\n<li>Added rise, transit and set times for celestial objects<\/li>\n<li>Added dithering support<\/li>\n<li>Many other improvements and various bug-fixes.<\/li>\n<li>See the <a href=\"http:\/\/stellarium.org\/release\/2018\/07\/01\/stellarium-0.18.1.html\" target=\"_blank\">release note<\/a> for details.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/stellarium-splash.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"430\" height=\"365\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7894\" \/><\/p>\n<h4>How to Install Stellarium 0.18.0 in Ubuntu:<\/h4>\n<p>The software has an <a href=\"https:\/\/launchpad.net\/~stellarium\/+archive\/ubuntu\/stellarium-releases\" target=\"_blank\">official PPA repository<\/a> that contains the latest Stellarium packages for Ubuntu 16.04, Ubuntu 17.10, Ubuntu 18.04.<\/p>\n<p><b>1.<\/b> Open terminal either via Ctrl+Alt+T or by searching &#8216;terminal&#8217; from app launcher.
