Here&#8217;s how to install it in Ubuntu 18.04, Ubuntu 16.04.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/launchpad.net\/shutter\/\" target=\"_blank\">Shutter<\/a> 0.94.2 includes following changes since the 0.94 release:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Remove ITmages, Minus, TwitPic upload plugins since the services down.<\/li>\n<li>Fix error in vygme plugin<\/li>\n<li>Add support for Gyazo uploads<\/li>\n<li>Fix insecure perl system calls<\/li>\n<li>Use reverse-DNS style AppStream ID<\/li>\n<li>Convert all JSON modules to JSON::MaybeXS instead of discouraged JSON modules<\/li>\n<li>Fix the issue that right click > &#8220;show in folder&#8221; results in &#8220;There was an error executing xdg-open&#8221;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/shutter-0942-600x396.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"396\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-8141\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/shutter-0942-600x396.jpg 600w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/shutter-0942-450x297.jpg 450w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/shutter-0942-768x507.jpg 768w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/shutter-0942.jpg 845w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<h4>How to Install Shutter 0.94.2 in Ubuntu:<\/h4>\n<p>It seems the official Shutter PPA won&#8217;t update for the new release packages. So I uploaded the packages into an <a href=\"https:\/\/launchpad.net\/~ubuntuhandbook1\/+archive\/ubuntu\/shutter\" target=\"_blank\">unofficial PPA<\/a> with support for Ubuntu 18.04 and Ubuntu 16.04.<\/p>\n<p><b>1.<\/b> Open terminal either from app launcher or via <b>Ctrl+Alt+T<\/b> keyboard shortcut. When it opens, run command to add the PPA:<\/p>\n<pre style=\"border:none;\">sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntuhandbook1\/shutter<\/pre>\n<p><i>Type your password (no asterisks feedback) when it prompts and hit Enter.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/shutter-ppa-unofficial-600x88.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"88\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-8142\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/shutter-ppa-unofficial-600x88.jpg 600w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/shutter-ppa-unofficial-450x66.jpg 450w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/shutter-ppa-unofficial.jpg 749w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><b>2.<\/b> Then upgrade Shutter via <b>Software Updater<\/b> utility:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/upgrade-shutter-450x335.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"335\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-7114\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/upgrade-shutter-450x335.jpg 450w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/upgrade-shutter-600x447.jpg 600w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/upgrade-shutter.jpg 678w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>or run commands one by one in terminal to install or upgrade the tool:<\/p>\n<pre style=\"border:none;\">sudo apt-get update\r\n\r\nsudo apt-get install shutter<\/pre>\n<p><b>For Ubuntu 18.04<\/b>, the PPA also includes <code>libgoo-canvas-perl<\/code> to fix the &#8216;Edit&#8217; option.
