The PPA adds support for Ubuntu 18.10 Cosmic Cuttlefish.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/launchpad.net\/grub-customizer\" target=\"_blank\">Grub Customizer<\/a> is a simple tool that features:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>add, remove, edit boot-loader menu entries.<\/li>\n<li>Set default OS entry, kernel parameters, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Change background image, text font, resolution, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Reinstallation of the bootloader to Windows MBR<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The most recent 5.1.0 release features:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>New app icon<\/li>\n<li>command option <code>-v<\/code> to display version info.<\/li>\n<li>Traslation updates and some internal changes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/grub-customizer-51.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/grub-customizer-51-600x371.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"371\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-8256\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/grub-customizer-51-600x371.jpg 600w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/grub-customizer-51-450x278.jpg 450w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/grub-customizer-51-768x475.jpg 768w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/grub-customizer-51.jpg 886w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h4>How to Install Grub Customizer 5.1.0 in Ubuntu:<\/h4>\n<p>For Ubuntu 18.10, and current 3 Ubuntu LTS releases (14.04, 16.04, 18.04), install the new release packages via following steps:<\/p>\n<p>1. Open terminal either from App Launcher or via <b>Ctrl+Alt+T<\/b> keyboard shortcut. When it opens, paste below command and run to add the <a href=\"https:\/\/launchpad.net\/~danielrichter2007\/+archive\/ubuntu\/grub-customizer\" target=\"_blank\">official PPA<\/a>:<\/p>\n<pre style=\"border:none;\">sudo add-apt-repository ppa:danielrichter2007\/grub-customizer<\/pre>\n<p><i>Type user password (no asterisks feedback due to security reason) when it asks and hit Enter to continue.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/grub-customizer-ppa-cosmic-600x181.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"181\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-8257\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/grub-customizer-ppa-cosmic-600x181.jpg 600w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/grub-customizer-ppa-cosmic-450x136.jpg 450w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/grub-customizer-ppa-cosmic-768x232.jpg 768w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/grub-customizer-ppa-cosmic.jpg 791w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>2. Then update package lists and install the software:<\/p>\n<pre style=\"border:none;\">sudo apt-get update\r\n\r\nsudo apt-get install grub-customizer<\/pre>\n<p><i>You can skip <code>sudo apt-get update<\/code> in Ubuntu 18.04 and higher, since step 1 adding PPA do it automatically.<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Once installed, launch it from application menu and enjoy!<\/p>\n<h4>Uninstall:<\/h4>\n<p>To remove the software, run command in terminal:<\/p>\n<pre style=\"border:none;\">sudo apt-get remove --autoremove grub-customizer<\/pre>\n<p>And open <b>Software &#038; Updates<\/b> and navigate to <b>Other Software<\/b> tab to remove third party PPA repositories.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Grub Customizer, the graphical tool for configuring Grub boot-loader, got a new release a few days ago.
