Ubuntu 18.10 was released with great new desktop theme ‘Yaru’. However, there are always some people prefer old Ubuntu desktop look.<\/p>\n

And it’s easy to restore the old desktop theme in Ubuntu 18.10 via following steps.<\/p>\n

1.<\/b> Open terminal either via Ctrl+Alt+T keyboard shortcut or by searching for ‘terminal’ from software launcher. When it opens, run command to install light-themes<\/code>:<\/p>\n

sudo apt install light-themes<\/pre>\n
Type user password (no asterisks feedback) for sudo prompts and hit Enter.<\/i><\/p>\n

2.<\/b> Install Gnome Tweaks<\/b> if you don’t have it:<\/p>\n
\"\"<\/p>\n
3.<\/b> Finally launch Gnome Tweaks and navigate to Appearance<\/b> tab.<\/p>\n
There set themes to:<\/p>\n

  • Applications -> Ambiance<\/li>\n
  • Cursor -> DMZ-White<\/li>\n
  • Icons -> Ubuntu-mono-dark<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
