Here&#8217;s how to disable the dialog in Ubuntu 24.04, Ubuntu 22.04, Ubuntu 20.04, and old releases, such as Ubuntu 16.04 and Ubuntu 18.04.<\/p>\n<p>If you enabled automatic login, passwordless login, or use another authentication method (e.g., fingerprint reader), then you may got &#8220;<i>Authentication Required &#8211; The login keyring did not get unlocked when you logged into your computer<\/i>&#8221; dialog. So, launching the corresponding apps first time after login will ask for user password to unlock for security reason.<\/p>\n<p>To workaround the issue, <b>you can just set the keyring unlock password to blank to disable it! NOTE: It&#8217;s NOT secure to disable this feature, do NOT do it in production machine!<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>1.<\/b> First, search for and launch &#8220;<b>Passwords and Keys<\/b>&#8221; (aka Seahorse) utility from either start menu or the GNOME overview screen.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/launch-seahorse.webp\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-46623\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/launch-seahorse.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"555\" height=\"285\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/launch-seahorse.webp 555w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/launch-seahorse-300x154.webp 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 555px) 100vw, 555px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><b>2.<\/b> When it opens, navigate to &#8220;Passwords -&gt; Login&#8221; in left.
