NXEngine Evo, a rewrite of the classic side-scrolling platformer game Cave Story<\/b>, now is easy to install in Ubuntu Linux using snap package.<\/p>\n

NXEngine Evo<\/a> is a complete open-source clone\/rewrite of the masterpiece jump-and-run platformer Doukutsu Monogatari (also known as Cave Story) created by Studio Pixel. NXEngine Evo is an upgraded\/refactored version of NXEngine by Caitlin Shaw.<\/p>\n

The classic side-scrolling platformer game has been made into snap, containerized software package, for most Linux desktop. <\/p>\n

To install the game in Ubuntu 18.04 \/ higher:<\/b><\/p>\n

Simply open Ubuntu Software<\/b>, search for and install the snap package cave story<\/code>:<\/p>\n

To install Cave Story in Ubuntu 16.04:<\/b><\/p>\n

For Ubuntu 16.04, open terminal<\/b> either via Ctrl+Alt+T<\/b> keyboard shortcut or by searching for ‘terminal’ from app launcher. When it opens, do:<\/p>\n

1.<\/b> Run command to install snapd<\/code> daemon:<\/p>\n

sudo apt-get install snapd<\/pre>\n
