Thanks to Daniel Llewellyn, he has made the <a href=\"https:\/\/snapcraft.io\/makemkv\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">MakeMKV Snap<\/a> package. However, it can be installed by running single command in terminal (<i>open terminal via Ctrl+Alt+T<\/i>):<\/p>\n<pre style=\"border:none;\">snap install makemkv<\/pre>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/snapinstall-makemkv-600x134.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"134\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-9376\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/snapinstall-makemkv-600x134.jpg 600w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/snapinstall-makemkv-450x100.jpg 450w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/snapinstall-makemkv.jpg 717w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><b>2.)<\/b> One more command is required to run to connect the snap to the hardware-observe interface:<\/p>\n<pre style=\"border:none;\">sudo snap connect makemkv:hardware-observe<\/pre>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/makemkv-plug-600x114.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"114\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-9378\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/makemkv-plug-600x114.jpg 600w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/makemkv-plug-450x86.jpg 450w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/makemkv-plug.jpg 715w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>(<b>Optional<\/b>) For any reason, you can easily remove the MakeMKV snap package by running command in terminal:<\/p>\n<pre style=\"border:none;\">snap remove makemkv<\/pre>\n<h4>MakeMKV PPA:<\/h4>\n<p><b>For those who prefer installing it via native Ubuntu <code>.deb<\/code> package<\/b>, there&#8217;s also a <a href=\"https:\/\/launchpad.net\/~heyarje\/+archive\/ubuntu\/makemkv-beta\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">PPA repository<\/a> that contains the software for all current Ubuntu releases.<\/p>\n<p>You can simply open terminal and run 3 commands one by one to add the PPA and install MakeMKV:<\/p>\n<pre style=\"border:none;\">sudo add-apt-repository ppa:heyarje\/makemkv-beta\r\n\r\nsudo apt-get update\r\n\r\nsudo apt-get install makemkv-bin makemkv-oss<\/pre>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MakeMKV, make MKV from Blu-ray and DVD, now is easy to install via Snap package in Ubuntu 18.04 and higher.
