It is available in Ubuntu Software via Snap package, which runs in sandbox and auto-updates itself once a new release is published.<\/p>\n<p>However, for those prefer Ubuntu <b>.deb<\/b> package atom can be also installed and easily updated via its official apt repository.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/atom-texteditor-600x362.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"362\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-9615\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/atom-texteditor-600x362.jpg 600w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/atom-texteditor-450x272.jpg 450w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/atom-texteditor-768x464.jpg 768w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/atom-texteditor.jpg 1035w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><b>1.<\/b> Open <u>terminal<\/u> either from application launcher or by pressing <b>Ctrl+Alt+T<\/b> on keyboard.
