Here&#8217;s how to install it in Ubuntu 16.04, Ubuntu 18.04, Ubuntu 19.10, and Ubuntu 20.04.<\/p>\n<p><b><a href=\"https:\/\/audacious-media-player.org\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Audacious 4.0<\/a> switches to Qt 5 UI by default<\/b>, though <b>GTK2<\/b> is still available as a build option. New features in the release include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>New option to hide playlist tabs.<\/li>\n<li>New OpenMPT-based tracker module plugin<\/li>\n<li>New VU Meter visualization plugin<\/li>\n<li>Added option to use a SOCKS network proxy<\/li>\n<li>New \u201cNext Album\u201d and \u201cPrevious Album\u201d commands<\/li>\n<li>The tag editor in Qt UI can now edit multiple files at once<\/li>\n<li>Implemented equalizer presets window for Qt UI<\/li>\n<li>Lyrics plugin gained the ability to save and load lyrics locally<\/li>\n<li>Blur Scope and Spectrum Analyzer visualizations ported to Qt<\/li>\n<li>MIDI plugin soundfont selection ported to Qt<\/li>\n<li>JACK output plugin gained some new options<\/li>\n<li>Added option to endlessly loop PSF files<\/li>\n<li>Some other improvements and bug-fixes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/audacious4.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"387\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-9902\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/audacious4.png 600w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/audacious4-450x290.png 450w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<h4>How to Install Audacious 4.0 in Ubuntu:<\/h4>\n<div class=\"arconix-box arconix-box-red\"><i class='fa fa-2x pull-left fa-exclamation-triangle'><\/i><div class=\"arconix-box-content\">Note the following packages are built with default QT5 UI. The Qt port of the <u>Winamp-like UI is still missing some key features<\/u> such the Jump to Song window.<\/p>\n<p>Users of the Winamp-like UI may build with GTK2 yourself, or keep the old version.<\/div><\/div>\n<p>The unofficial PPA contains the latest packages for Ubuntu 16.04, Ubuntu 18.04, Ubuntu 19.10, and Ubuntu 20.04.<\/p>\n<p><b>1.<\/b> Open terminal by either pressing <b>Ctrl+Alt+T<\/b> on keyboard or searching for &#8216;terminal&#8217; from application menu.
