My-weather-indicator is an advanced desktop weather app for Ubuntu Unity. It displays the current weather situation and a week forecast for your location through indicator menu and/or a desktop widget.

  1. Hi, did you manage to launch the app?
I’m on Ubuntu 16.04 and installed the latest version of MWI and it keeps crashing when trying to launch it.
    Any idea?

  2. Hi, installed it today. The same result as Alex on a fresh install of Ubuntu 16.04
Log indicates (I think) a problem with country code.

  3. Well, issue resolved.

What I did was installed and then upgraded on error via terminal. but then.
I opened Synaptic package manager, searched for “my weather indicator” selected “mark for re-installation” and Applied.
Started the app again… It Worked…! Thanks for cool utility.

    Regards,

How do I change the app language? I think it set language automatically through current location but I’m not able to change it

    • Try launching Language Support utility and change languages in both tabs, log out and back in to apply changes.

  5. Can you build a 64 bit package? Thanks.

  6. while selecting locality from search location, the pop up asking proxy internet id and password ,but unable to type those fields in popup!! any solution please share it….

    thanks.

  7. I’m using the Mate desktop on Ubuntu 16.04 – Installing the repository and then the widget worked fine for me, no hangups at all.

  8. Installed on 16.10 and nothing shows up in the upper bar.

  9. Just installed on 16.04 and it closes , tried synaptic and it doesn’t show up, have the repositories installed.
    no widget or anything either.
is it because i’m using a 64 bit system ?

  10. I had problems launching it, always worked the second time. The problem seems to be “Automatic Location” feature that causes the crash. This is located in the Preferences > “Main Location”. In the General Options section, UN-ticking/clear the “Automatic location” option and finding/setting your location manually fixes the Crashing problem.

Used ou Ubuntu 16.04 64 bit with the Automatic location unchecked without crashes for months.
