This is the first maintenance update that includes 20+ fixes for the bugs found in the last 4.1.0 version and some performance improvements. And, all users are encouraged to upgrade to this version.

First, this version fixed some crashes issues found in the last release. They include crashes when parsing a .torrent file with a bad pieces key, when editing tracker list immediately after pausing torrent, and crash on arm32 by switching crc32 libraries to Mark Madler’s crcany.

It also fixed “assertion failed: no timezone” error on OpenSolaris, “Illegal byte sequence” error due to invalid UTF-8, and wrong mime-type icon for mp4 video files.

For the GTK client designed for GNOME, Cinnamon, XFCE, etc desktop environment, it fixed broken keyboard shortcut for GTK3 build, not translatable menu entries, encryption mode always “Allowed” in Preferences dialog.

It as well fixed the issue that it cannot add magnet links from either “Add URL” dialog or command line, potential crash when removing some torrents, a assertion failure, and not able to install both GTK and Qt version side-by-side in Arch Linux.

For Qt version, the long-standing bug that wouldn’t let file:/// URIs be added from the command line has been finally fixed. It also fixed the RPC error response arguments were not handled issue, and, broken icons in the torrent list on Windows.

And, the macOS client fixed the crash when removing a torrent that is being shown in the inspector, crash on “Rename File …” at the end of the download, and crash after failing to delete a torrent.

There are as well few changes to the WebUI. It reverted the change that merged the “Remove torrent” and “Trash torrent” confirmation dialogs into a single dialog, and, fixed “Connection failed” popup when opening the “Open torrent” dialog while the current download directory path was invalid.
