HPLIP 3.17.6 Released with Ubuntu 17.04, New Printers Support

HP Linux Imaging and Printing

HPLIP, Hewlett-Packard’s Linux imaging and printing software, has reached the 3.17.6 release with lots of new printers support, and Ubuntu 17.04, Debian 8.8 support.

HPLIP 3.17.6 is the second release in 2017, it adds following new printer support:

  • HP LaserJet Enterprise M607n, M607dn, M608n, M608dn, M608x, M608dh, M609dn, M609x.
  • HP LaserJet Managed E60055dn, E60065dn, E60065x, E60075dn, E60075x.
  • HP LaserJet Enterprise MFP M631dn, MFP M631z, MFP M632fht, MFP M632h, MFP M633fh.
  • HP LaserJet Enterprise Flow MFP M631h, Flow MFP M632z, Flow MFP M633z
  • HP LaserJet Managed MFP E62555dn, MFP E62565hs
  • HP LaserJet Managed Flow MFP E62565h, Flow MFP E62565z, Flow MFP E62575z
  • HP Color LaserJet Enterprise M652dn, M652n, M653dn, M653dh, M653x

How to Install HPLIP 3.17.6 in Ubuntu:

The official .run installer is available for download at the link below:

After downloaded the .run installer, open terminal via Ctrl+Alt+T or by searching for “Terminal” from app launcher. When it opens, run command:

cd ~/Downloads/ && chmod +x hplip-3.17.6.run && ./hplip-3.17.6.run

The commands navigate to your Downloads folder, give executable permission, and finally run the installer script in that terminal window.

Simply follow the terminal prompts, answer some questions, wait it automatically building HPLIP and setting up your devices, and enjoy.

HPLIP 3.16.11 Adds New Printers, Fedora 25, OpenSuse 42.2 Support

HP Linux Imaging and Printing (HPLIP), HP Linux solution for printing, scanning, and faxing with HP inkjet and laser based printers, has reached the 3.16.11 release one day ago.

HPLIP 3.16.11 adds following new printers support:

  • HP LaserJet M101-M106 Printer
  • HP LaserJet Pro M203-M206 Printer
  • HP LaserJet Pro MFP M227-M231 Printer
  • HP LaserJet Pro MFP M129-M134

Also new Linux Distro’s Fedora 25 and OpenSuse 42.2 are supported in this release.

How to Install HPLIP 3.16.11 in Ubuntu:

Download the official Linux binary from the link below:

Then open terminal (Ctrl+Alt+T), run commands to give executable permission, and finally run the installer:

cd ~/Downloads/ && chmod +x hplip-3.16.11.run && ./hplip-3.16.11.run

Follow the terminal prompts and finally restart your computer when everything’s done.

HPLIP 3.16.10 Released with Ubuntu 16.10 Support

HPLIP, HP Linux solution for printing, scanning, and faxing with HP inkjet and laser based printers, has reached the 3.16.10 release with Ubuntu 16.10 and Debian 8.6 support.

Also following new printers are supported in HPLIP 3.16.10:

  • HP Office jet 6950 All-in-One printer
  • HP ScanJet Pro 3000 s3 Sheet-feed Scanner

How to Install HPLIP 3.16.10 in Ubuntu:

The project offers the .run binary packages available for download at the link below:

After downloaded the binary, open terminal (Ctrl+Alt+T) and run command:

cd ~/Downloads/ && chmod +x hplip-3.16.10.run && ./hplip-3.16.10.run

The commands navigate to Downloads folder, give executable permission, and finally run the binary.

Follow the terminal prompts and restart your computer when everything’s done.

HP Print Drivers HPLIP 3.16.9 Adds New Printers Support

HPLIP, HP Linux Imaging and Printing, just reached the 3.16.9 release a few hours ago with new printers support.

HPLIP is a free, open-source HP-developed solution for printing, scanning, and faxing with HP inkjet and laser based printers in Linux. While Ubuntu 16.04 offers HPLIP 3.16.3, the latest 3.16.9 has been released with following new printers support:

  • HP OfficeJet Pro 8732M All-in-One Printer
  • HP OfficeJet 8702 All-in-One Printer
  • HP OfficeJet 6960 All-in-One Printer
  • HP PageWide 377dw Multifunction Printer
  • HP PageWide 352dw Printer
  • HP PageWide Managed Color MFP E58650 series
  • HP PageWide Managed Color E55650 series

How to install HPLIP 3.16.9 in Ubuntu:

1. Download the installer (hplip-3.16.9.run) from the link below:

2. Open terminal (Ctrl+Alt+T) and run:

cd ~/Downloads/ && chmod +x hplip-*.run && ./hplip-*.run

Then command navigates to the Downloads folder, give permission to run the installer, and finally start the installer.

3. Follow on screen prompts and restart your computer or re-plug your printer when everything’s done.
