KDE announced the first maintenance update for Plasma 6.3 just a week after it was originally released.
As you may know, Plasma 6.3 introduced new feature to resize or move the area of drawing tablet. However, some Linux Distributions are NOT supported due to outdated libinput library. The new release updated the UI to better handle the un-supported cases.
Spectacle, the screenshot tool in the release now has new format support when recording in Wayland. They include GIF and animated WebP, though it tells that WebP is better than GIF.
The release also re-enabled revert message for color power preference, to fix screen blank when setting an ICC profile in Display configuration. And, it reverted “Only show osd on global shortcuts or scrolling the applet”, so OSD will also appear when changing the volume in other ways, e.g., using a bluetooth headphone.
Other changes in Plasma 6.3.1 are primarily bug-fixes, including fixes for crashes in some non-KDE apps (e.g., qmmp) with Breeze, when scaling to certain percentages, when logging out of Plasma with a failed assertion in libinput, when opening properties for recent file, and when drag’n’drop item from kickoff to any place on Wayland.
Other fixes include:
- Fix RadioButton and tooltips in colorpicker applet.
- Fix page size flickering in info center.
- Fix permission checks on FreeBSD.
- Fix pink-tinged app color when both HDR and night-light enabled.
- Fix that mouse cursor appears on mobile devices after rotation.
- Fix “Touchpad toggle” keyboard global shortcut not consistent in Wayland session.
- Fix incorrect link in weather widget when the weather station is set to Blackpool, Blackpool, GB (BBC Weather)
- Fix that appmenu appears on the wrong screen when a window maximized.
- Fix plasma panel shadow gap on X11, with glocal scale other than 100%.
- Fix panel (in auto-hide mode) inappropriately hide when drag moving icons.
- Fix that keyboard brightness no longer showing up until logging out and back in again
- Fix that keyboard navigation with up arrow key is broken since reorg of switch
