This tutorial shows how to install the latest dolphin emulator (2512 updated) through either Flatpak or PPA repository in Ubuntu 22.04, Ubuntu 24.04, and Ubuntu 25.04/25.10.

Dolphin, the free open-source emulator for Nintendo GameCube and Wii, released version 2512 few days ago. The release added two new options Rush Frame Presentation and Smooth Frame Presentation to reduce latency and improve frame pacing.

It also added a reset all settings option, and new BBA-IPC mode for running multiple Dolphin instances on the same machine to share memory and communicate directly without the need for a host network. For more, see the official release note.
