KDE Plasma 6.3.2 Released with Another Batch of Fixes

Last updated: February 27, 2025 — Leave a comment

Just a week since the last release, KDE announced the second maintenance update for the Plasma 6.3 Desktop.

Plasma 6.3.2 added support for fractional scaling with denominator of 120. According to this page, the appropriate denominator for the scale is 120. However, Display Configuration previously only allowed 5% increments. In the new release, it supports setting a scale of e.g., 174.167% (209/120).

The release also removed artificial limitation on minimum SDR brightness in HDR mode, exposed application menu dbus interface info, which is useful for locally integrated menus. And, for info center it now aligns gpu pills more neatly.

Other changes are mostly bug-fixes. It fixed weather applet layout for large station names that could overflow the strict width, fixed kicker app search & enter press launching issue, and fixed monitor brightness resets to display value on every monitor wake-up.

Other changes in Plasma 6.3.2 include following fixes:

  • Fix non-free app license name colors in Discover.
  • Fix that touch scrolling not working.
  • Fix background to show the correct color.
  • Fix multiple file selection issue when dragging ends on top of an icon.
  • Fix klipper popup-menu hide when another window gains focus.
  • Fix that ENTER press not work for toggle “Night Light suspend” switch.
  • Fix automatic screen brightness not change when plugging/unplugging power supply.
  • Fix desktop freezes when dragging window to top edge.
  • Fix that mouse movement break automatic VRR.
  • Night Light doesn’t work with “prefer color accuracy” setting in use.
  • Color profile option “Built-in” does not work
  • ICC profiles disable brightness control in SDR on Wayland
  • Fix blank desktop when changing the global theme with “Desktop and window layout selected”
  • Fix clipboard actions not setting clipboard for the first time
  • Touchscreen window selection now requires two taps.

There are as well many improvements to the Spectacle screenshot tool, including GIF and Animated WebP support on Wayland, though they also mentioned in the release of Plasma 6.3.1.
