DVDStyler 2.5.2 Released: Install it in Ubuntu 13.04, 12.10

As you may know, DVDStyler is a cross-platform free DVD authoring application that makes possible for video enthusiasts to create professional-looking DVDs. The latest version has reached 2.5.2, here’s how to install it in Ubuntu 13.04 Raring, Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal.

DVD Styler 2.5.2

The default version in Ubuntu Software Center is very old. To check out what’s new in recent releases, go to this page.

To install DVDStyler 2.5.2, press Ctrl+Alt+T on your keyboard to open terminal. When it opens, run below command to download the packages. You may check OS type 32-bit or 64-bit by System Settings -> Details utility.

  • for 32-bit:
    wget https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+archive/primary/+files/dvdstyler-data_2.5.2-0ubuntu1_all.deb https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+archive/primary/+files/dvdstyler_2.5.2-0ubuntu1_i386.deb
  • for 64-bit system:
    wget https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+archive/primary/+files/dvdstyler-data_2.5.2-0ubuntu1_all.deb https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+archive/primary/+files/dvdstyler_2.5.2-0ubuntu1_amd64.deb
  • Then install the downloaded packages:

    sudo dpkg -i dvdstyler-data_2.5.2*.deb dvdstyler_2.5.2*.deb; sudo apt-get -f install
