  1. It works. Thank you for providing a useful tutorial. One question, how to change desktop-sound using mp3 files. My sound files are in /home/Downloads/ubuntu_start.mp3. thx again

    • Either convert the .mp3 file to .ogg (there’s ‘SoundConverter’ Debian package in App Center to do the job), then use command:

      /usr/bin/canberra-gtk-play --file="/home/Downloads/ubuntu_start.ogg"

      Or, use mpv instead of canberra-gtk-play:

      mpv --video=no /home/Downloads/ubuntu_start.mp3
