TypeCatcher is a simple graphical tool that allows you to search, browse, and download Google web fonts for off-line use. You can preview fonts with adjustable size and text.

This handy tool has been made into Ubuntu default repositories since 14.04 Trusty. So you can easily install it from Ubuntu Software Center. Or just click the link below:

  2. Hi, just wanted to say to the above poster, Shamim:
    I recently installed 16.04 and also couldn’t get typecatcher to work.
    I was able to use the trusty “force” command to get it going…

    sudo add-apt-repository ppa:andrewsomething/typecatcher
    sudo apt-get install -f typecatcher
