How to Install Converseen Image Converter 0.6.4 in Ubuntu 13.10

Converseen is an open source batch image converter and resizer written in C++ with the powerful Qt4 libraries. Thanks to the Magick++ image libraries it supports more than 100 image formats like DPX, EXR, GIF, JPEG, JPEG-2000, PhotoCD, PNG, Postscript, SVG, and TIFF and many others.

Converseen allows you to convert, resize, rotate and flip automatically an unlimited number of images. With Converseen you can save your time because it can process more than one image with one mouse click!

With converseen you can:

  • Carry out a single or a multiple conversion.
  • Resize one or multiple images.
  • Compress images for your web pages.
  • Rotate and flip images.
  • Rename a bunch of images using a progressive number or a prefix/suffix.
  • Selecting a resampling filter to resize images.

Install Converseen via PPA:

There’s PPA to make it easy to install the tool on Ubuntu and its derivatives. So far, the PPA supports Ubuntu 14.04, Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy, Ubuntu 13.04 Raring, Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal, Ubuntu 12.04 Precise, Linux Mint 13 Maya, 14 Nadia, 15 Olivia, 16 Petra and Elementary OS Luna.

To add this ppa, press Ctrl+Alt+T on your keyboard to open terminal. When it opens, copy and paste below command and hit enter to run in terminal:

sudo add-apt-repository -y ppa:ubuntuhandbook1/apps

Then update package lists and install the image converter and resizer:

sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get install converseen
