Hi there
I have had troubles with the skype since the update that they made. It installs correctly, like you said. but once i log in it opens for about 3 seconds and then crashes. I have gone the route of installing the old one and then updating it. I have also gone the route of installing the new one from the site. but neither help me in resolving this problem.
I use a Ubuntu 14.04LTs and my machine is a Acer Travelmate 5744
Any help would be appreciated.
Regards
Ludwig
I am totally confused. I have used linux before and although installing skype seemed complicated i have always got it to work. I cannot even see skype in the software centre. Doing all the sudo apt-get install stuff gets me nowhere at all. I am pretty sure that installing skype last year involved a very long list of commands and then it worked fine. I have a 2013 hp computer. I have 14.04.
There is just so much information here and there on the internet. and nothing works so far for me.
