CopyQ Clipboard Manager 3.3.0 Released (Ubuntu PPA)

CopyQ is an open-source clipboard manager software with editing and scripting features. It monitors system clipboard and saves its content in customized tabs. Saved clipboard can be later copied and pasted directly into any application.

The latest CopyQ 3.3.0 was released earlier today with following changes:

Add option for searching numbers in item list and tray menu
Use exception instead of return code for exportData()/importData()
Draw icon shadow (for internal icon font)
Remove support for Qt 4, require Qt >= 5.1.0
Fix storing only non-empty clipboard items
Fix opening web browser from script with open()

CopyQ clipboard manager in Ubuntu 14.04

Install Copyq 3.3.0 in Ubuntu:

The software has an official PPA repository that contains the latest packages for Ubuntu 14.04, Ubuntu 16.04, Ubuntu 17.10, Ubuntu 18.04 so far.

1. To add the PPA, open terminal from application launcher and run command:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:hluk/copyq

Input your password (no visual feedback while typing) when it prompts and hit Enter to continue.

2. After added the PPA repository, install CopyQ either via Synaptic package manager or by running commands in terminal:

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install copyq

Once installed, start the clipboard manager from application launcher and you’ll see the icon in system tray area.

Uninstall:

To remove the software, either use Synaptic package manager or run command:

sudo apt-get remove --autoremove copyq

To remove PPA repositories, launch Software & Updates and navigate to Other Software tab.

Install Latest ‘Diodon’ Clipboard Manager in Ubuntu 14.04

Diodon is a lightweight clipboard manager software which is well integrated with Ubuntu Unity and Gnome Desktop.

It features include a panel indicator, Unity Scope allows searching history, clipboard sync and a zeitgeist integration for an infinite clipboard history.

Diodon also supports images and plugins and it does just what a clipboard manager should do. If you would like more features (e.g. edit history), try CopyQ.

Install Latest Diodon in Ubuntu:

Diodon is available in Ubuntu Software Center since 13.10 Saucy, but Canonical does not provide future updates for this app.

The developer provides a stable PPA that contains the latest builds for this software and allows to receive future updates through Software Updater. So far, Ubuntu 14.04 LTS and Ubuntu 14.10 are supported.

To add the PPA, open terminal from the Dash or by pressing Ctrl+Alt+T on keyboard. When it opens, run:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:diodon-team/stable

After that, you can upgrade Diodon through Software Updater. Or install the app for the first time by running below 2 commands one by one:

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install diodon unity-scope-diodon

Diodon clipboard manager starts working at next log-in.

Advanced Clipboard Manager ‘CopyQ’ 2.4.3 Released

CopyQ is an advanced clipboard manager available for both Windows and Linux. It allows you to browse, search, and edit clipboard history in text, HTML, images and any other custom format.

The software provides a customizable system tray menu, supports a variety of system-wide shortcuts (e.g. show main window or tray, edit clipboard, copy next/previous, paste as plain text), sorts items in tabs or tree, and provides advanced command-line interface and scripting.

The latest 2.4.3 release brings new plugins and a few fixes:

CopyQ, an advanced clipboard manager with searchable and editable history, has reached release 2.2.0 which brings some new features, GUI improvements and bug fixes.

As you may know, CopyQ is a cross-platform clipboard manager with support for HTML, images, command line control and more. It runs on Linux, Windows and features:

Install Gpaste 3.2.2 via PPA in Ubuntu 13.10, 13.04 Gnome

Gpaste is a clipboard manager allows you to keep a trace of what you’re copying and pasting. It is really useful when you go through tons of documentation and you want to keep around a bunch of functions you might want to use, for example. The clipboard manager will store a history of everything you do, so that you can get back to older copies you now want to paste.

Gpaste 3.2.2 and the couple of following ones (3.3 and maybe 3.4) are the last releases supporting GNOME <3.10. Gpaste 3.3 will add an Ubuntu Unity applet.

Install Gpaste entension for Gnome Shell in Ubuntu 13.10

Ubuntu Gnome 13.10 uses GNOME 3.8, so your can run commands below one by one in terminal (Ctrl+Alt+T) to install paste 3.2.2:

sudo add-apt-repository -y ppa:webupd8team/gnome3

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install gnome-shell-extensions-gpaste

Then log out and back in. Enable this extension in Gnome Tweak Tool:
