Mozilla Firefox 138.0 is available to download today after 9 beta releases. Here are the new features in this monthly release.
The Firefox 138.0 announcement is not ready at the moment of writing, though the download link is out. According to the Github releases page, the new Firefox release enhanced profile management support.
As you know, Firefox web browser can have multiple profiles to keep separate browsing data (e.g., bookmarks and passwords), themes, or settings for different purposes, such as work and personal use.
In the new release, as the screenshot above shows you, by clicking on account icon -> profiles, user can now add, name profiles, and customize them with different avatars and color themes, then easily switch between them on startup.
NOTE: The new profile management is progressive roll-out feature, that may not yet be available to all users. See HERE for more about it.
For users in United States, Firefox can now trigger weather suggestions in the address bar! Just type a weather-related term or a city name, then, you’ll see the weather condition and temperature in the drop-down suggest box.
For Windows 11 users, Firefox 138.0 now uses acrylic-style menus for popup windows, which looks native in the operating system. And, for Linux and macOS, background tabs now include new “Copy Link” context menu options.
Other changes in the release include better handling address and credit card autofill forms that update dynamically as users input information, rededicated previous color settings to Contrast Control settings, as well as following changes for developers:
